One does not convert to Rastafari, because Rastafari in its essence is a Livity (way of life) that one is called upon by the Most High to live.
The Irit (Spirit) of Rastafari is with InI from Ireation (Creation) however it often reveals itself stage by stage. Rastafariis a livity (way of life), and as in life, you learn as you live. As you grow, you learn the elements of Life, Love, Justice and the workings of the Iniverse (universe) and your eyes open a little bit wider. It is when one fully opens their eyes and submits to the will and teachings of the Head Creator as manifested in the image of Rastafari, does one become Rastafariin fullness.
To that end “many are called but only the few are chosen”, thus you do not chose to be Rastafari you are created Rastafari

greetings all,
I am concerned with the philosophy of black supremacy embraced by rasta.
afterall color is only skin deep. it is reactionary and therefore weak in the root so to speak.
furthermore, it goes against the teachings of his majesty.

Is it possible for a white 13 year old jewish boy, barley past his bar mitzvah, to convert to rastafari?
Best,

Curious mind
Why do Rastas use the word I for everything? What is the significance of this…INI, Idren, Ital, Initate, Initual etc? Thanks.

‘Cause all things begin from within.. That is were Jah dwells. The language of “I” is a manifestation of the rebellion against an ideology the creator is an external force. Rastafari Overstands that Jah is all encompassing therefore he exists in each of us.

Yeah man u are if u accept jah rastafari u dont really convert in da convetional sense instead when u accept thre fact jah rastafari was da coming of Iyesus, rejection of the corrupt world thats around u which alot of us call “rejecting babylon”
and smokin ganja or else known to most people as cannabis, pot, marijuana, and weed to feel closer to jah and clean the soul, the mind, and the body to feel and be pure. Though i myself dont believe in only eating kosher foods becuase Iyesus said “it is not wate goes into the mouth that will defile a mans body, but instead what comes out like sayin blasphemous things. drinking alcohol turns ur body into a shell of death becuz pickled things and things that are supposed to ferment like wine and beer are dead becuz theyre supposed to rot, if u want to learn more on rasta use dis website

I have explored a plethora different religions and I have come to find that none of the US religions are what truly I feel to be accurate, just, or non-biased (concerning ANY American religions). One love, one God, and one heart, is the only belief system that I can fathom as being correct and making perfect sense. I have the dreadlocks, the voice, I share the Rastafarian faiths, and believe in the truths of the prophets. The miracle of my declared “scientifically impossible birth” has blessed me and kept me close and connected to Jah my whole life. Thus blessing me with the ability to recognize, claim, and possess the cornerstone in which to develop my perception of what is true correct… and that, my brothers and sisters, is Rastafarianism. Of course the USA nullifies its existence as a religion due to the US’s spineless political warfare against “usage of Marijuana.” But having prop 215 passed years ago… then why can’t such a religion exist, flourish, persist, and be? I think that the whole ‘United States political scenario’ is long overdue for another evaluation as far as validity and honor of the first, universally respected, and recognized amendment (freedom of religion). I may not be exactly certain where all of my roots originated, but I’m more than certain that all of my dreadlocks which now exceed my waistline in length, consisting all of virgin hair, as well as my strong belief that the white man and his system are faulty to the ultimate max; I, Amanda Guadalupe Kraus, hereby accept, honor and praise the Rastafarian religion as my own. I live and wish to die this way. ONE LOVE. On my road to Zion, I must distance myself as hard as I can from the wickedness which leads many souls to Babylon. AND TO MY FELLOW MAN ALL OVER THE WORLD, WE ARE ALL ONE PEOPLE, FOREVER PRAISE JAH!

Amanda…Blessings to you….with all Raspect my Sista please refrain from calling Rasta FarI as rastafarian(ism). This term is considered derogatory and offensive by some Rastas, because we reject the “isms and schisms” that characterize the downpressors~the corrupt society~babylon
In addition please look at the word “religion”
The root of this word comes from a old word, I believe in the French language. The word is religare, it means “To bind quickly” or “To tie up quickly” And that is exactly what religion does. It quickly binds the people’s minds under the domination (denomination) that they are part of.
But the meaning of words depend on the intention of the person that uses it. Just like “wicked” and “bad”, could mean what they originally meant, or they can also mean “good”
Rasta FarI my Sista, is not a “religion” at all, but a “Way of Life”
JAH Guide and Protect you….

I’m white and 16. I started reading about the Rastareligion about a month ago, and to me, it all makes sense compared to other religions. I don’t only eat kosher, I smoke weed, I don’t have dreadlocks, I do not know how Jah is, only as far as I know a god that is inside you. I want to learn the ways of a rastafarian, but I don’t know where to start. Could you please guide me. I am willing to learn and and listen to what you say.

I DON’T THINK YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT…SERIOUSLY MAN, YOU HAVE NO IDEA, I’VE BEEN TO THE EVENTS AND I WAS ACCEPTED GRACIOUSLY, I’M NOT A WHITE PERSON I’M LATINA MARRIED TO A FILIPINO THAT WAS ADOPTED BY A WHITE PERSON SO CHECK YOU0RSELF. THAT’S WHAT MESSES UP THE BEAUTY OF RASTAFARI, IS PEOPLE’S MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT WHAT RASTA IS REALLY ALL ABOUT ONE LOVE, one GOD, ONE AIM, ONE DESTINY.

All u whites dnt hav to keep sayin that ur white. It doesn’t matter. There’s a sayin and it goes “A white man with a black heart. Is stronger than a black man with a white heart” an it basicly means that u can be white an be rasta an support black supremacy.because to rastas it wouldn’t be worse than a black man who oposes black supremacy.

i think aas long as you love yourself, love people around you, and love life in itself for the good and the bad, believe , trust and praise Jah, you can’t go wrong. Skin don’t matter, the hair doesn’t matter, it’s what is within your soul and what you accept as your savior and God forever. It’s what you believe in and the deeds that you do in life that determine whether you are true Rastafari
Jah Rastafari!

hey.
i hear every day, that its all so sad about the history of the black people. and it is really sad how the white man has treated the black man. but i also hear every day that a rastafari does not care about the color of a mans skin. but still, its a lot of talk about races. to me that is a bad thing. race to me, is just like the color of a mans skin. so why does people always talk about race, when they also talk about that you should NOT put so much weight on that?
i am a 16 year old. and it does NOT matter what color i got!
please let me know your point of view:)

Man,
I’m a little concerned. I love the Rastafari beliefs and way of life. I’d love to become a part of it and be accepted as a Rasta, but I’m afraid that some might think of me as a fake because I’m white. I know most believe in equality for all colors, but some things I’m reading in the posts are concerning me. Should I give up on the religion. Heck, should I give up on religion in itself? I’m worried if people see me in gold, red, and green that they’ll think I’m in it for the herb or something like that…

Haile Selassie III
If Haile Selassie I, who was the last monarch of Ethiopia, is God/Jah: who are his children? Are they God/Jah also? The grandchildren are God/Jah too? The great-grandchildren are also God(s)?
The ones of age smoke tobacco. Drive around in Mercedes Benz vehicles. Have all types of World Bank accounts and live in luxorious homes.
Jesus Christ, the Word of God incarnate rode upon an ass, a donkey to enter the Holy City of Jerusalem…H.I.M. drove around chauffeured in a Rolls Royce.
How can you call a person who doesn’t know dimensions, math or physics an architect? Or someone who doesn’t know civil rights, historical freedoms and the law a lawyer? How can you attribute the created beings to the Creator?
According to the King James Bible, which is the version that Rastafarians use to make the so-called Biblical claims that the late emperor is the Lord Almighty, the Lord Jesus Christ would return to judge the world (humanity) the same place that He ascended to sit at the right hand of the Father!
Haile Selassie I was an Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Christian. He defended this FAITH ultimately. How can anyone say, “I love HIM with all of my heart” and not defend what he defended, especially spirituality? This is the great contradiction. Don’t preach that Haile Selassie is Jah/God and then teach something else…teach about who Haile Selassie I is and what he followed, believed and defended.
When Haile Selassie I fled to England and developed a relationship with the Queen of England [who almost every Rastafarian calls ‘Queen of Harlots’; funny, because that Queen of Harlots and their god were extremely great friends!], he vowed that if the monarchy [his] re-entered Ethiopia and defeated the fascist Italians, he would build a Church in Axum with his own money. HE DID THIS and the Church is named after Tsion Maryam [Mary of Zion].
Haile Selassie venerated the Holy Places of Jerusalem [Holy Land], Ethiopia, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Turkey…
Don’t be fooled by this Babylonian-imitating cult: Rastafarianism. It is created by non-spiritual, anti-Christs, who support the Babylon system that enslaves the minds of the people! It prevents the down-trodden from entering the True Faith that His Majesty followed and even curses His Majesty in the same breath! Rastafarians are false prophets, deceiving many with vegetarian, ganja smoking and fire-burning trends!
Seek the Faith that Haile Selassie I promoted and defended: Orthodox Tewahido Christianity! He was loyal to the Ethiopian and Egyptian [Coptic] Orthodox Churches! Read about the great dean of Holy Trinity Seminary: VC Samuel the Indian Orthodox doctor!
To be a slave to Jesus Christ means to be free from this world and its Babylonian chains!

Jesus was a Jew. Why are you not Jewish. Your own arguments contradict you. Jesus also said love your enemies. Where was the so called “Queen” of England when Italy was invading Ethiopia, if she was such a good “friend”. She was an enemy, but like the Christ, HIM forgave all of Babylon. Its not yet in my heart to love my enemies, but that is part of the journey.

I have been studying the Rastifari movement and found it to be life changing. It has opened my eyes to the fact that the Rasta lifestyle is a holy way to live and that christiantity, what I was before, is a good way to live but not as sophisticated and not as good an agent of self awareness as the Rasta lifestyle. My only dilema is that I am confused about Haile Selassie. Is he the second embodiment of Jesus Christ or is he a prophet? Even if this question is not answered i will continue to study the Rastifari movement and become apart as best that I can.

I do smoke it, I do love every living creature, and do read alot about Rasta, but I don’t know where to start. I hate violence and I don’t drink. My mother thinks I smoke weed because I started wearing the colors of Rasta and changed my religion on facebook… >_<, but she sees it as a bad thing. when I smoke weed, I feel clean and wonderful. I see myself and my soul alot better. Does anybody know a website, or somebody that would teach me the ways of living and beliefs or something? Please ignore the other text of me.
what i meant to write:
Many 13 year old children want to be rasta (or just be cool cause they belong to this group) and ask how they can get to be one. The reply is always to have love in your heart and it isnt all about smokin weed and having dreadlocks. So, many people accept all humen, have love and live happy. Does that mean they are rastafarians without knowing it? Or do you have to call yourself rasta to be one? Please correct me if im wrong somewhere.

But i mean you can live your life the rastafarian way without callin you a rasta. You dont have to be rasta if you want to live happy and with love. You can even just do it without being rastafarian. Am i right?

Why black or white supremecy? I thought accepting rasta fari into your life means one love n all dat? Stop this rubbish black or white supremecy talk. Its racism in my eyes. I was thinking about possibly turning to rastafari to help me guide my life, but then I read about the black supremecy..
No longer interested. All other religions are bogus. Shame because I do agree with alot of the things that are embodied in the rastafari way of life, like loving one another, and smoking weed etc.

Hi guys , i have a problem my mom and dad are muslim and i think islam is somewhat a good religion but its not my way of life cus i see on tv a lot of stupid men that prais Allah and they saying he is the only god i say god is one but there is many ways to him , i read a lot of texts about rasta way of life and from this point on i will try and live with Jah and wait for him to find me and while he trys to reach me i will follow road to zion hoping and praying for myself to find Jah. because i`m solidier in Jah army.
I do smoke the holy herb with my friends and i do get spirtualy cleaner and self avernes about life it self and i get meaning of life is to be one with all living creatures.. They are the creation of divinity and we should respect that .. ONE LOVE TO ALL OF YOU
